HUMBLE, TX – LIV wrapped up its first round at the Golf Club of Houston.
Coming off a wrist injury, Martin Kaymer of Cleeks GC is coming in to form. He shot a Bogey-free 7-under 65
Kaymer has been in form after coming of back-to-back top 20 finishes in Adelaide and Singapore.
His play has been improving.
““It all started in Hong Kong and then I was getting better and better,” said Kaymer, whose round was fueled by four consecutive birdies starting on the first hole. “Little things, once they fall into place, then rounds like this can happen.
“I’m still not there where I would like to be, but it’s all fairly consistent now.”
Poland’s Adrian Meronk, of Cleeks GC, is in second place. He shot 7-under.
Caleb Surratt, of Legion XII GC, is also 7-under, in third place.
The Cleeks leads the team format 17-under, followed by Torque GC at 14 under, and a four-way team tie for third at 12-under.
